- Miguel Herrera has an extensive background in consulting for the public sector, particularly at the municipal level, serving as an advisor to mayors and municipal councils. He began his career advising road and bridge construction companies on administrative contracts, from the bidding phase to contract execution, including price adjustment procedures, administrative claims, and administrative litigation. He has also excelled in advising on public works projects, water resource utilization, electricity generation, vehicle inspection, and public sector trusts, such as the ICODER/Banco Nacional de Costa Rica Trust for the management of the National Stadium.
- He has significant experience in the use of amparo appeals and constitutional challenges.
- Among his institutional services, he stands out for the sanitary registration of food products and trademarks, an area in which he has represented national and foreign companies in court, challenging trademark registry decisions.
- In the private sector, it is also important to note that he specializes in construction contracts and their execution, including the judicial phase for breaches or the execution of guarantees. He has advised companies on corporate matters such as incorporation, modifications, mergers, transformations, labor issues, and transit.
- Professionally, he was a founder of Costaricaatorneys Law Firm and was part of the Lexincorp Law Firm, which has a presence in Central America. He later founded the SHHD LAW Firm, which operated until 2015, before joining other prominent firms.
