Lawyer and Public Notary graduated from the University of Costa Rica in 1986. While pursuing his studies, he concurrently worked as an Assistant at the Fallas Solano & Asociados Law Firm, with notable tasks for Lic. Angel Edmundo Solano Calderón, handling notarial procedures and judicial collection processes for various banks.
In 1986, he completed his studies with the presentation of his thesis entitled “CONTRACTS USE, ACQUISITION AND CHARTER IN AERONAUTICAL LAW,” a sufficient reason to be called to serve as an Assistant in the Legal Department of Costa Rican Airlines S.A. (LACSA).
By 1989, he assumed the position of Head of the Legal Department at LACSA, overseeing a team of labor lawyers during the pilots’ strike period in 1991, among his many other tasks.
In 1993, shortly before Taca International Airlines’ assumption, his scope of action was expanded, and he was appointed as Legal Director for Latin America, spending a few months for LACSA and the rest of the time for TACA. He retired after Avianca acquired the latter company.
Current Status and Professional Development
After retiring, he continued his professional activities, always within the discipline of Aeronautical Law, being hired by three European airlines to obtain their aeronautical operator certificates and the different collateral processes for the perfect development of international passenger, cargo, and mail air transport operations. As well as an airline from the Dominican Republic. Among his clients are also some national companies of local air transport based at the Tobías Bolaños International Airport.
